Bill Saxton Announces Quarterly Fundraising Total, Raises Nearly $90,000 for 2020 Cycle

East Grand Rapids, Mich. --  Bill Saxton, the Democratic candidate for State Representative in Michigan’s 73rd District, reported $44,512 raised in the most recent fundraising quarter, bringing the total raised to $88,487 for the 2020 cycle. Among four candidates in the 73rd, Saxton has the most individual contributors and more than double the cash-on-hand than any other candidate, with $63,776 left to spend.

“The hardworking people of this district trust our grassroots movement,” said Saxton. “550 people have contributed to our campaign -- more than all of the other candidates combined. Our supporters come from all walks of life. We are united by our mission to lower healthcare costs, protect education funding, and put families first through the COVID-19 recovery.”

Saxton adds, “Our volunteer team is canvassing thousands of voters each week about what they expect from their next representative. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents all say the status-quo isn’t working for their families. People are joining our campaign because they want a leader who is serious about the problems we’re facing right now.” Elected officials are taking note of Saxton’s campaign and efforts as well.

“It’s time for our community to send a problem solver to Lansing,” shared Kent County Commissioner Stephen Wooden. “I know Bill will work with anyone, Democrat or Republican, to get results for the hardworking people who call Kent County home. He will make sure our West Michigan values are represented in the legislature.”

Saxton has also been endorsed by State Senator Winnie Brinks, State Representatives David LaGrand & Rachel Hood, Kent County Commissioners Phil Skaggs, Carol Hennessy, Robert Womack, Jim Talen, Dave Bulkowski, Stephen Wooden & Monica Sparks, the entire East Grand Rapids City Commission, and other elected officials. He has also earned the support of the Progressive Women’s Alliance of West Michigan PAC, the Kent County Black Caucus, the Michigan Education Association, UAW, and a growing list of other major unions.

Bill Saxton is a small business owner, father of three, and Democrat running for State Representative to represent the City of East Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Charter Township, and the townships of Cannon, Courtland, Nelson, Oakfield, Plainfield, and Spencer. For more information, visit
